Job Summary: This position can be filled at either level: Programmer Analyst II/III

In this position, you will provide technical skills required to translate system analysis type definitions to reports, charts, and diagrams, from which programmers can efficiently perform their tasks. Responsible for grasping overall concepts and objectives of the entire system study and programming projects.

The School of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Programmer Analyst II/III who will work with the principal investigator and team to support in the development of existing application tools and new applications.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work with staff members to support development and refactoring of existing applications
  • Help co-design and develop new application tools for web-based and desktop applications
  • Document application design
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Programmer Analyst II

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or relevant experience in lieu of education with two years of programming experience. Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and programming.

Programmer Analyst III

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or relevant experience in lieu of education with three and a half years of programming experience. Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and programming.

The ideal candidate should have high competency in Java programming language, specifically in development of web applications and/or desktop environment. GWT and related frameworks is preferred. Experience with ontologies, OWL, RDF, and SPARQL is a plus.

Additional requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience developing web applications using Java, developing front-end clients with Bootstrap, and web-based service development.
  • Basic knowledge of database and software engineering design
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to acquire and learn skills independently and troubleshoot applications
  • Good communication (written and oral) skills

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
