Job Summary: Coordinates, supervises, and directs major biomedical research projects in informatics. Provides advanced scientific and technical expertise to contribute to the formulation, implementation, and analysis of techniques, procedures, and results of research projects.

Additional Summary Specific to Job: The School of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to perform the following duties:

• Explore new research directions in clinical NLP and assess feasibility of new projects
• Plan, design, implement, and evaluate biomedical informatics research projects
• Develop advanced algorithms and frameworks for clinical text processing, thus to facilitate other research projects
• Write papers and research proposals, present at conference, and interact with other collaborators
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Doctorate degree with a minimum of four years experience in a related research environment and have verifiable publications within the field of the research project.

PhD in informatics related fields or MD with informatics training. Three years of experience in text mining and natural language processing areas in the biomedical domain. Experience in writing and proposals. Basic knowledge of medicine and biology.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
