A new year means new changes for many as they pursuit their goals and work to fulfill their resolutions. The gym fills up with people who want to get in shape and university classrooms see more students who are returning to earn their degrees. For others, they may go in search of new career opportunities – particularly in the blossoming field of health IT.
HIMSS released the results of its annual salary & compensation survey at the end of last year to give us a glimpse at what health IT professionals earned in 2015. With a total of 1,900 responses received, the average salary was $111,388 and the median salary was $90,000. More than three fourths of the respondents also received salary increases during the year as well demonstrating that employers see the benefits that their health IT workforce bring to their organizations.
