Data Scientist
Bio: Jaerong Ahn, Ph.D., is a data scientist at the Center for TEAM-AI. He earned his Ph.D. in Brain & Cognitive Sciences from Seoul National University, South Korea. During his academic research, he investigated the computational neural mechanisms of the medial temporal lobe and motor cortex in animal models of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Prior to joining UTHealth, he worked as a data engineer and scientist at DataJoint and CVS Health, where he built ETL pipelines for various research institutions and developed predictive time-series models. At UTHealth, Jaerong is spearheading the development of data infrastructure and pipelines that manage millions of patient records to facilitate cross-institutional healthcare data analysis at scale. He aims to apply his expertise in neuroscience, AI, and data science to advance healthcare research, with a specific focus on developing predictive models for patient outcomes in neurological disorders.
