Liwei Wang

Associate Professor

Bio: Liwei Wang, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Center for TEAM-AI. She is also affiliated with the Division of Epidemiology at the Mayo Clinic. Liwei has a diverse educational background in informatics, medicine, pharmacology, and public health. Serving as a co-investigator and key investigator for multiple research grants from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), she has led numerous informatics projects aimed at creating valuable assets, such as lexicons, ontologies, and NLP algorithms. With a strong focus on translating informatics solutions for cancer, precision medicine, mental health, and pharmacogenomics, she makes use of diverse real-world data sources to facilitate evidence generation that supports both research endeavors and practical applications, contributing to excellence in these fields.
