Ratko Stojsin

Ph.D. Student

Bio: Ratko Stojsin is a Ph.D. student focused on advancing bioinformatics through the development of methodologies that utilize deep learning to elucidate phenotype-specific gene networks. His research is built on building a better understanding the complex relationship between O-GlcNAcylation—a pivotal process in the post-translational modification of proteins, impacting many cellular functions—and its role in cancer progression. His approach is designed with flexibility, allowing for the adaptation of his methodologies across a variety of bioinformatics problems. With a master’s degree in data science from Vanderbilt University, along with bachelor’s degrees in computer information systems, Economics, and Business Data Analytics from Arizona State University, Ratko is working at the confluence of computational innovation and biological insight. His goal is to reduce the gap between deep learning technologies and their practical application in bioinformatics, facilitating a deeper understanding of complex biological data.
