Taylor Harrison

Ph.D. Student

Bio: Taylor is a Ph.D. student leveraging a team science approach to tackle real-world problems about the digitization of healthcare. Specifically, Taylor is interested in the reporting of digital health technologies (DHTs) used in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate inclusiveness, scientific rigor, and generalizability of DHTs for potential transition into clinical practice. Under the guidance of Dr. Hongfang Liu, with mentorship from Dr. Sunyang Fu and the collective of TEAM-AI, Taylor is using a mixed methods natural language processing (NLP) and large language model (LLM) approach to uncover documentation trends across thousands of published DHT-enabled RCTs. This effort serves as evidence generation for the development of equitable DHT trial reporting standards. Taylor earned a B.S. in Biology and an M.B.A. prior to her studies in bioinformatics and computational biology, where she now employs this diverse mindset to inspire technology-driven healthcare advancements.
