Yian Hu

PhD Student

Bio: Yian is a Ph.D. student at the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics (MSBMI) and a Graduate Research Assistant with the Center for TEAM-AI. He is advised primarily by Dr. Jun Jiang on imaging-focused research, with secondary mentorship from Dr. Sunyang Fu on natural language methods. Yian holds an M.S. in Data Science & Analytics from Georgetown University. His work centers on applying vision–language models and multimodal learning to radiology and computational pathology, including cross-modal alignment between images and reports, retrieval-augmented analysis, and clinically aligned evaluation. His goal is to build decision-support pipelines that improve detection, triage, and reporting efficiency in imaging-centered care.
