BMI 6301 Health Data Display

This course will examine the evaluation and design of information displays for health care. The course will focus on three areas: (1) Theories and methodologies for the evaluation of information displays; (2) Techniques and tools for generating effective information displays through visualization; and (3) How the formats of information displays affect decision making in health care.

Upon successfully completing this course, the student will:

  • Identify healthcare tasks where relational information is used for representation and decision making.
  • Assess challenges of data/information representations in the healthcare domain.
  • Analyze the relationship of tasks, representations and decision making.
  • Apply foundations and methodologies for developing health data displays.
  • Justify the rationales for developing proper data displays in the healthcare domain.
