This course involves the weekly research seminars in which both invited speakers and students present their work to an audience of McWilliams affiliates. Students participating in the course for credit are required to both give a seminar presentation, attend at least 80% of the weekly seminars, and fill out evaluation forms (available online). Each student seminar must be supervised by a faculty member (not necessarily the student's advisor). The faculty member will work with students to ensure that the seminars are both appropriate and interesting for the audience.
This course involves two seminars:
Students who are electing the seminar for credit for the first and second time will present at the student seminar. Students who are electing the seminar for the third time will present at the main research seminar.
Students participating in the course for credit are required to attend at least 80% of the weekly seminars (both main and student seminars) and fill out evaluation forms (available online) for all talks (e.g., if there are two talks on a particular date, two evaluations should be submitted). Each student seminar must be supervised by a faculty member (not necessarily the student's advisor). The faculty member will work with students to ensure that their presentations are both appropriate and interesting for the audience. The supervising faculty member must attend the student’s presentation synchronously (in person preferred, online allowed).
