Prerequisites: Consent of instructor
The course will provide an overview of health information exchange policy in the context of the health care system and how policy is developed on the state and federal levels. It will survey the various disciplines involved in information exchange policy development. The course will identify key issues in developing and implementing widespread health information exchange including issues related to law, ethics, public health, privacy, economics, and technology.
