A bioinformatics postdoc position is immediately available in the School of Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, starting on February 1st, 2013.
The postdoc will receive training in modeling and visualizing human genome in 3-dimension, and in large scale genome information integration and analysis.
The ideal candidate should have exposure and past experience in structure biology, with solid C++/object oriented programming skills and the understanding of design patterns. The candidate also needs to have extensive experience with OpenGL-3D programming. Familiar with Quaternions, VRML, game engine or Java is a big plus, but not necessary. Candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Structural Biology, Applied Math or Physics.
