Graduate Assistant (GA) Position

Position Description:

McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, formerly UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI). The successful candidate will work 20 hours/week on campus with GA benefits through the end of the fall 2019 semester.

As a GA, you will assist with student recruitment, progression and retention efforts in the Office of Academic Affairs. You will assist prospective students during the application/admission process; assist with updating and maintaining student records and participate in special projects as assigned. Phone answering and other clerical duties will be required.

The candidate must display a good understanding of biomedical informatics and healthcare. Strong computer skills are required for this position. You must be able to follow detailed directions and document your results. This position requires an individual who has strong work and research ethics, is dependable and accountable, and is able to work both independently and as part of a team.

The position will be filled immediately, and UT Health students are welcome to apply. To become a GA, you must be currently enrolled and in good standing at our school. The position is available for the Summer 2019, Fall 2019 semester and may be continuous depending on funding availability and GA performance.
