Graduate Research Assistant

Distance Education

An opening for a Graduate Research Assistant position is available at McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, formerly UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI). The successful candidate will work (20 hours/week with GRA benefits) with the Distance Education team in the review and preparation of courses for Summer and Fall 2014 semesters.

Task details:

• Assist in the review of courses using a set of rubrics
• Format and proofread course information
• Change and verify settings of Moodle activities
• Assist in the documentation of course review procedures

Skills and experiences:

• Required:
  
  1. Attention to detail a must

• Desired:
  
  1. Familiarity with Moodle
  2. Prior online learning experience
  3. Proficiency in Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PPT)
  4. Working knowledge of HTML

The position is available for the spring 2014 semester and may be continuous depending on funding availability and GRA performance.
