An opening for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position is available at the School of Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The successful candidate will work 20 hours/week with GRA benefits during the Spring 2015 semester.
As a GRA, you will be responsible for Teaching Assistant duties for multiple SBMI courses and other educational initiatives as needed. You will be expected to assist the course instructors in many aspects of teaching, including providing support to students, grading homework, leading lab sessions, and other duties as assigned. You must display a good understanding of health informatics and healthcare. Strong computer skills are required for this position. You must be able to follow detailed directions and document your results. This position requires an individual who has strong work and research ethics, is dependable and accountable, and is able to work both independently and as part of a team.
The position will be filled immediately, and SBMI students are welcome to apply. To become a GRA, you must be currently enrolled and in good standing at SBMI. Familiarity with Moodle, Second Life, AvayaLive, Diigo, Oovoo, Skype, Prezi, and Edublog is recommended.
The position is available for the Spring 2015 semester and may be continuous depending on funding availability and GRA performance.
