Signal/Image Processing GRA – Giancardo


Position Description:

We are looking for an exceptional candidate for developing machine learning-based image/signal analysis algorithms.

The successful applicant will join dynamic faculty at the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics and McGovern Medical School who are active in cutting edge translational research to solve the next generation of unsolved medical needs. The applicant will have access to expertise at the crossroads of computer science, medicine and informatics under the supervision of Dr. Luca Giancardo at the School of Biomedical Informatics.

Job Description

Under close supervision, conducts research activities. Research activities may include some or all of the following: algorithms development, informatics, research support, writing scientific papers.

  • Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
  • Support teaching activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Signal/Image Processing techniques
  • Python programming with scientific libraries (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
  • Machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit-learn)
  • Deep learning libraries (e.g. PyTorch, Keras, tensorflow)
