GRA SQL Programmer Position - Jiang

Role Overview:
We seek a dedicated and skilled Graduate Research Assistant to join our dynamic team at McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics. This position is ideal for a student with a passion for database management and data retrieval, looking to apply their skills in a real-world setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with users to fulfill data retrieval tasks.
• Utilize Hadoop and PostgreSQL Greenplum databases to extract data from several standardized databases.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement efficient data retrieval strategies.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users in data extraction and database utilization.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL programming.
• Familiarity with Hadoop and PostgreSQL Greenplum databases would be a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role or relevant project work.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and complex database environments.

Duration:
Minimum commitment of one year.
