Natural Language Processing, Text Mining and Data Mining

Position Description:

A number of post-doctoral research fellow positions are available in the Center for Computational Biomedicine at UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics. Candidates will be expected to work on federal and state-funded projects to develop novel methods in clinical natural language processing (NLP), text mining (TM) and data mining and apply the novel methods to clinical and translational research based on electronic health records data, such as epidemiological and genomic studies related to drugs and cancers. Applicants must have one of the following: 1) A PhD in computer science, information science, library science or a related field with research experience in NLP/TM; 2) A PhD in bioinformatics, medical informatics or a related field; or 3) A MD or PhD in biomedical related fields (e.g. Epidemiology or Biology) with significant informatics training/experience. The positions are available immediately.
