Academic Advising

→ Degree Plans

School of Biomedical Informatics students are advised by both faculty advisors and advising staff. Faculty advisors direct students in curricular studies and research advancement/opportunities, while the advising staff assists students with enrollment, student administration, and paperwork.

A degree plan (https://sbmi.uth.edu/current-students/curriculum/) must be signed by both the student and Advisor and a copy must be sent to the Office of Academic Affairs by the beginning of the second semester that the student is enrolled in the program. Updated degree plans are required annually.

The student is responsible for seeking academic advice, for enrolling in appropriate courses to insure progress toward a certificate or degree, for timely completion of his or her academic program, for familiarity with the appropriate school catalog, and for maintaining University standards.
