The School of Biomedical Informatics - Center for Precision Health. is seeking a Research Coordinator II to provide day to day administrative project management as well as scientific direction for research projects of considerable scope and complexity.  

Additional Summary Specific to Job:

  • Provides day to day project management coordination for research projects to include personnel, workspace, supplies in support of research project desired outcomes. Serve as liaison for the Center for Precision Health and internal and external entities.  
  • Assists PI(s) in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies; works closely with SBMI's Pre-Award office on the submission of grants, preparation of annual progress reports, applications for various committees.
  • May provide direction/recommendations by identifying opportunities to enhance, terminate, or re-direct resources across various research projects to ensure timely completion of project guidelines.  
  • Prepares and assists PI(s) in the preparation of budgets, initiates re-budgeting requests based on needs of research staff, authorizes expenditures for multiple projects. Assists and attends research planning meetings to prepare budget drafts for departmental leadership approval. 
  • Documents and maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data. Data may include patient data and departmental programmatic data.
  • Provides work administrative direction and guidance to research and/or administrative staff personnel within research lab. Responsible for organization and implementation of training and orientation of new personnel.  
  • Coordinates, proofs, and edits various documents such as grant status reports and new grant submissions. Assists with the creation and preparation of grant applications and publications. Develop marketing proposals for special seminars.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or two years of clinical research experience in lieu of every year of education plus certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC), Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or, Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC). If applicant has a bachelor's degree, certification is not required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Five years of relevant experience.
 

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Working knowledge of MS Office and graphic software
- Ability to organize and impart information
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
