Changes to UTHealth Student Counseling Services

Image of Mind, Body, Spirit and Soul As of Apr. 2, UTHealth Student Health and Counseling Services charges insurance for visits to Student Counseling Services. This change is intended to maintain the highest quality of care and assistance for UTHealth students, while meeting the challenge of costs that continue to rise.

Student Health and Counseling Services will not charge students for their first visit to Counseling, and the staff will assist all students to make sure that they receive assistance no matter what financial constraints they may have.

The Student Health and Counseling Services staff values all UTHealth students and will work with them and their insurance providers to accommodate student counseling needs

If students have any questions or concerns, they should contact the Director of Student Counseling Services, Sudhakar Selvaraj, MBBS., DPhil (PhD, Oxon)., MRCPsych at 713 -500-5171.
