SBMI Shift to Online Classes

SBMI in-person courses move to online format starting March 23

In an effort to observe caution regarding novel coronavirus COVID-19, UTHealth’s School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) will move to online delivery for all courses, starting Monday, March 23rd. This change will advance our goal of protecting the health and safety of our community while maintaining the ability to conduct our teaching mission.

Many of our courses are already taught online and will not be impacted by this change. Additionally, all on-campus/in-person courses scheduled for this week, March 11-13, will be taught as scheduled unless you are otherwise notified.

As a reminder, Spring Break begins on Monday, March 16th and ends Friday, March 20th. During that week, no classes will be held. Beginning Monday, March 23rd, all courses will be delivered online through Canvas. Please check Canvas for information regarding your classes and as always, contact your instructor if you have any questions.

If the transition to distance education is new for you, please feel free to reach out to the SBMI Distance Education team for tips for online learning. Additionally, the Office of Academic Affairs is available to assist you.

The UTHealth COVID-19 resources webpage provides important information and updates to our community at large. Administrators at SBMI will continue to keep our community abreast of any updates or changes as time progresses.

We appreciate the patience and support of everyone at SBMI as we work together to keep one another healthy and safe.
