Symposium on the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Healthcare
The 2020 DeepTexas Medical AI Symposium will be held in Houston, Texas, at the Westin Houston Medical Center on April 23rd and 24th.
Featuring some of the best minds in technology and medicine—throughout Texas and across the nation—the symposium will provide a forum for clinicians, researchers, executives, health systems, corporations, investors, payers, policymakers, patients, and other stakeholders to consider the possibilities and plan for the future of medical AI.
Glassell Family Foundation Distinguished Chair in Informatics Excellence and Dean of UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics, Jiajie Zhang, PhD, is the symposium chair. Zhang and honorary symposium chair, Giuseppe Colasurdo, MD, President of UTHealth, have worked with the symposium committee and presenters to create a comprehensive, stimulating program.
Zhang noted that “the goal of the symposium is to educate attendees on the current state of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution and the ripple effects it is creating in medicine and healthcare. Among other issues, we’ll be exploring the myriad applications of AI in medicine and how they can aid us in advancing clinical care.”
Symposium partners from academic institutions and healthcare providers include, but are not limited to: UTHealth, UT Physicians, The University of Texas System, UT Austin, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, UT Medical Branch at Galveston, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Rice University, Texas A&M, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Houston, Memorial Hermann Health System, Texas Children's Hospital, Houston Methodist Hospital, HCA, and Harris Health. Symposium partners from industry include Nutanix, IBM Watson Health, Amazon, Google, Cerner, Melax Technologies, Healthcare Growth Partners, Mercury Fund, TMCx, and others.
