UTHealth Houston Student InterCouncil (SIC) and Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity will host a Student disABILITY Forum, an informational and networking event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Beth Robertson Auditorium in the Fayez S. and Susan K. Sarofim Research Building, 1825 Pressler St.

UTHealth Houston students are invited to learn about creating inclusive environments for people of all ability levels through technology and communication in a social, informational evening.

Food and beverages will be served.

Register to attend online. Questions for the panel to answer at the event can be submitted via registration link and can be done anonymously if preferred.

“This collaboration aims to empower students to learn what accommodations are available to them to thrive in their studies and beyond,” said SIC in statement. “The SIC hopes that this event helps highlight and foster inclusive initiatives across UTHealth Houston and our community.”

The event will begin with a panel discussion in the Beth Robertson Auditorium, featuring experts from UTHealth Houston in various fields affecting disability accommodation and accessibility. Moderated by a member of SIC, the panel will answer pre-submitted questions and lead engaging discussions on topics related to inclusion and accessibility.

Following the panel discussion, attendees can network and enjoy refreshments in the atrium, while mingling and learning about resources at UTHealth Houston from internal and external resources.

All students are encouraged to attend and to register early for the event.
