Professor
Bio: Hongfang Liu, Ph.D., is a Professor and McWilliams Chair of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth and directs the Center for TEAM-AI. She also serves as Vice President of Learning Health System at UTHealth. Prior to joining UTHealth Houston, she was a consultant and Professor at the Mayo Clinic from 2011-2023, directing the biomedical informatics program in the Center of Clinical and Translational Sciences Center (2015-2023) and the cancer data science and informatics program at the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (2022-2023). She has a broad range of informatics expertise including artificial intelligence and informatics in healthcare, computational biology and bioinformatics, and biomedical data science. Her current research focus is to advance human-centric AI and bring AI innovations to empower biomedical research and learning health system implementation.
