Job Summary: Where Creating the Best Hope for a Healthier Future Begins... The School of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Technology Licensing Trainee to perform the following duties:

  • Identify intellectual property for Biomedical Informatics.
  • Develop Commercial business plans for the School of Biomedical Informatics
  • Interface and serve as a liaison between SBMI and the Office of Technology Transfer personnel/staff.
  • Maintain appropriate company and marketing databases for SBMI.
  • Assist the license managers with the development of invention disclosure.
  • Help to evaluate new inventions for product and market potential.
  • Assist Technology Manager in meetings with inventors to identify product/market potential of invention and identify potential licenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Summary Specific to Job:

  • QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of licensing practices; Intellectual property law knowledge is preferred. Bachelor's degree in business administration, chemistry, biology, or related field; with at least one year towards MBA, JD, or degree in scientific field. No experience is required, but prior knowledge and experience in the life sciences is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal skills. 
  • SALARY: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
