Job Summary:  In this position, you will interface with department administrators in the content management of the department(s) Web site.

Additional Summary Specific to Job:

  • Provides day-to-day management of a Web site's content to include creation, addition, and removal of information from the Web site 
  • Plans page design with an emphasis on Web usability 
  • Develops and maintains Web application interfaces or programs in at least one object oriented programming language 
  • Creates dynamic Web pages 
  • Develops Web site(s) information architecture 
  • Uses advanced photo editing skills for the creation of graphics, animated graphics and retouching images 
  • Creates and captions audio or video files for distribution on Web sites 
  • Creates and maintains databases. Adding, deleting, and changing database records as required 
  • Keeps current on overall Web publishing technologies available for the creation and distribution of Web-based materials 
  • Conducts usability testing 
  • Contributes to the university's usability standards 
  • Determines where files are placed on a Web site and authorizes access rights to appropriate individuals 
  • Conducts cross-browser functionality testing 
  • Other duties as assigned 


REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree in computer science or relevant work experience in lieu of education with a minimum of two years Web Development. 

HTML, Graphic creation, Graphic software, Digital Equipment/Scanners, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), META data, Web editing software, audio/visual software. Basic and Advanced understanding of accessibility and usability concepts, information architecture, design concepts, database concepts, an understanding of browser/platform-specific functionality and basic understanding of Web standards. Coding dynamic Web pages: Active Server Pages (ASP) or Java Server Pages (JSP) or Coldfusion (CFM). Scripting languages: jscript or vbscript or perl, etc.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
