Fall 2024 Course Registration Now Open

Regular registration for fall 2024 is currently open and ends on Aug. 23 in myUTH. If you have questions regarding registration, email the Office of Academic Affairs at [email protected].

For fall 2024, McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston courses will be taught both in-person and online. Students registered for in-person classes are expected to attend the on-campus sessions during the scheduled time and day each week. Students enrolled in web-based classes will complete all coursework 100% online.

The fall 2024 semester will begin on Aug. 26. For a full list of courses offered in the fall, visit the Semester Schedule webpage.

McWilliams Bragging Points

Members of the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics Community have recently achieved noteworthy accomplishments. We want to recognize and applaud these individuals.

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Angela Ross has been named a 2024 Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
  • In late June, Tongtong Huang was successful in the defense of her dissertation. She will officially earn her PhD next month.

  • McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics is proud to announce our new partnership with Tuskegee University. Certain undergraduate students at Tuskegee can now participate in our 4+1 program.
Registration Exploration on July 23

We invite all McWilliams students to attend Registration Exploration on Tuesday, July 23 from 4 to 5:30 PM (CDT). The virtual event will be hosted via Zoom.

McWilliams Faculty & the Office of Academic Affairs will help students learn more about the courses offered for fall 2024. Instructors and Teaching Assistants will participate during the virtual event to answer questions about course curriculum, the syllabus, learning objectives, and more. McWilliams staff will also be available to answer questions about degree plans for all programs.

Updated Travel Request Form for Faculty

The McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics Travel Request Form has been moved to QuestionPro. We want to remind all faculty members to submit the form well in advance of any work-related trips or travel.

McWilliams In the News
  • Professor James Langabeer, PhD, EdD, MBA, EMT, was interviewed by MoneyGeek for two stories in June and July. The first story is about navigating insurance for mental health care and the second story explores how to get out of medical debt.
  • Dr. Langabeer was also interviewed by ABC13 Houston in late June as he discussed the dangers of counterfeit drugs.
  • Chair Xiaoqian Jiang, PhD, of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, was recently interviewed by the Houston Chronicle. He discussed how clinicians across the Texas Medical Center are embracing AI in health care.
