Dr. Jianguo Wen joined McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, formerly UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) in 2020 as an Assistant Professor. Before joining UTHealth, Dr. Wen worked at Houston Methodist in the Department of Pathology and Genomic Medicine as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Wen received his Ph.D. at the Fudan University Institute of Genetics in 2004. Dr. Wen worked at Houston Methodist first as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2005-2009) and then as an Instructor (2009-2013).

Dr. Wen’s research mainly focuses on translational cancer therapeutics by collaborating with bioinformaticians and system biologist. He has worked on a series of significant topics including cancer drug resistance, cancer microenvironment, cancer stem cells, cancer nucleic acid therapy, and cancer immunotherapy. His current research projects include integrating biology approaches to explore the bone regeneration process and cancer immunotherapy.
