Julie Forcum, PharmD joined McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston, formerly UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) in August of 2021. After earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston, Dr. Forcum continued her clinical training by completing a Pharmacy Practice residency in Chicago, IL. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Forcum returned to the Houston area where she worked as a pharmacist for over 20 years in various healthcare settings. These healthcare settings included over a decade of experience in the hospital settings both acute care and long-term acute care, long-term care consulting, home health, managed care, retail, and several start-up opportunities in pharmacy. Dr. Forcum was also very involved in opening a closed-door long-term care pharmacy, opening a new ambulatory infusion center, and assisting in the growing of a centralized order entry pharmacy for a health system.
