Xiaosheng Wang, PhD, joined the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics as a research assistant professor of the center for Precision Health in May 2025. With diverse background in medicine, informatics, and statistics, Dr. Wang’s study interests include: developing algorithms and tools for analysis of medicine-associated omics data; investigating immuno-oncology and tumor heterogeneity based on bulk, single-cell and spatial omics data; discovering predictive biomarkers and novel drug targets for cancer; systems and computational biology for elucidating the nature of oncogenesis, neurodegenerative disorders, and other diseases.

Dr. Wang has published nearly 150 academic papers and a number of software tools in Biomedical Informatics research fields. He serves as an associate editor or editorial board member of several journals, including Frontiers in Genetics, the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology, Scientific Reports, and Journal of Clinical Medicine.
