The UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) formed a health data service in response to the growing number of health datasets available at the school and the increased need to utilize those datasets for research and education purposes. Working with the newly established Data Science and Informatics Core for Cancer Research (DSICCR), the SBMI Data Service provides technical assistance and consulting services to qualified clients.
It was determined that coordination would be required to manage the data and provide service, in order to:
Mission
The mission of the SBMI Data Service is to facilitate and enhance interdisciplinary research dedicated to scientific discovery, with the ultimate goal of improving patient safety and quality of care.
